Shamrock Shakes

We love ice cream around here.  I mean buy-a-half-gallon-and-it's-gone-in-two-days kind of love.  So we had to have something ice cream related for St. Patrick's day.  Enter the Shamrock Shake.

All you need is ice cream, milk, peppermint extract, and green food coloring (whipped cream and sprinkles are optional).

We had them with our Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner.  They were super tasty!

Shamrock Shakes
(Adapted recipe from sheknows.com)
1 pint (2 c) vanilla ice cream (add more for desired consistency)
1 c milk
1/4 t peppermint extract
1/4 t green food coloring
Whipped cream and green sprinkles (optional)

Place ice cream, milk, extract, and green food coloring in a blender; cover.  Blend on high speed until smooth.

Pour into glasses.  Top with whipped cream and sprinkles if desired.  Serve immediately.
