Turning a New Leaf - Goal #2: Drink More Water

In my last post about turning a new leaf I talked about last week's goal - Eating more fruits and vegetables.  This week's goal is fairly simple:

Goal #2 - Drink more water.

I have heard that you are supposed to take your body weight, divide it by two, and drink that many ounces a day.  So in my case that would be 65 ounces = 8.125 cups a day.  Let's just say that most days I am lucky if I drink 4 glasses of water, so this has been a big change for me.

Here's how I've attacked this new amount of water:

Breakfast - drink 2 cups of water
Snack - drink 1 cup of water
Lunch - drink 2 cups of water
Snack - drink 1 cup of water
Dinner - drink 2 cups of water

Total = 8 cups of water.

Splitting it up this way has made that daunting 8 cups of water much more manageable.
