Valentine's Pancakes

If you want to make something fun with your kids for Valentine's Day breakfast look no further!

I have never known a kid that doesn't like pancakes.  My kids absolutely love them!  They also love using my cookie cutters.  I knew this meal was going to be a win-win.

You could make any pancake recipe, but I was lazy and used the regular old bag of Bisquick Mix.  I made the batter according to the directions.  Then I split the batter into three bowls and added food coloring.

We had red with swirls, pink, and purple.  The kids had a blast mixing in the food coloring.

I heated the pancakes on the griddle.  Next came my kids' favorite part...

Cookie cutters!

Princess was super excited.  We cut the pancakes into hearts and flowers.

We found it works best if you push the cookie cutter all the way through and then peel off the extra while the cutter is still in place.

So pretty!  I especially loved how the swirly red ones turned out.

They were fun to make, but eating the pancakes is always the best part!

Princess thought it was fun to lift the pancakes and eat them like a cookie.  I suppose it was okay to forgo table manners for one night.
