2017 in a Nutshell

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaack!

Hello readers!

How I have missed you!

So much has happened these last few years.  I'm sure you're curious as to why I haven't posted in so long.  I will give you a quick recap of 2017 and get back to posting the pin-worthy family fun that you know and love.

The biggest adventure of the past year: WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!

Isn't it lovely?!  I am so incredibly happy.  We are in a cul-de-sac living by the BEST neighbors.

Would you like a little tour inside?  Let me show you a couple of my favorite spots.

FAMILY ROOM & KITCHEN
Here is Goofy showing off the family room/kitchen.  As you can tell, this picture was taken around Valentine's Day.  I have always dreamed of having a space where I can host events without feeling cramped.  Dreams do come true!  I have been on cloud nine decorating and organizing.

MASTER CLOSET
This is my half of the master closet.  Ah, the organization!  I hope I can keep it looking like this.

LOFT
Every little girl who loves to read (and loves Beauty and the Beast) dreams of having a library.  The bookshelves in the loft are a recent addition.  Princess and I are thrilled!  This is just the start of our children's library.  I can't wait to fill the shelves with books and a few decorations.

PANTRY
Lastly, I'll show you the pantry. So many shelves! There is so much more I could show you (perhaps in some later posts).

What has the Dastrup family been up to in this new house?

My hubby works hard as a Network Engineer II.  He is doing a job he loves and is working for a wonderful company that treats him well.

I am ever busy being a mom and teaching piano.  I enjoy going to book club (two of them actually), playing the piano, singing, eating dill-pickles, watching Disney movies, and binge-watching Doctor Who.

My kiddos are all going to be in school full time this fall leaving me home all alone.  What's a stay-at-home mom to do?  Well, this one is GOING BACK TO COLLEGE.  I have always wanted to be an elementary teacher.  I dropped out of the elementary education program 10 years ago due to illness from pregnancy, but I always knew in the back of my mind that I would go back and finish my education.  I am beyond excited!

Princess is in 4th grade and she loves this new area.  She has lots of friends, a wonderful school teacher, and she leads our neighborhood kids' book club (more on that to come).

Goofy is in 1st grade.  Singing and art are still her favorite hobbies, but she has so many friends she hardly has time for them.  She's my little social butterfly.

Bud is in kindergarten (I'm still in denial and the year is almost over).  He has recently been introduced to video games and you can imagine what he likes to do more than anything in the world.  He's much better at them than I am.

We made some memories taking a few vacations as well.

We have been swamped with moving, lessons, and life, but that doesn't mean we haven't been having lots of fun in the process.

I'm here to share the fun with you!

If there is anything you'd like me to post about - party themes/decor, holiday activities, FHE lessons, etc. - let me know in the comments.  I love hearing from you!
