While I scroll around Pinterest I see many darling DIY decorations. I think to myself, "I could make that." Then, I figure out how much it will actually cost to make these decorations and one of two things will happen: 1) my wallet will cry and shrink in size, or 2) I will cry because I decide against making my wallet cry. My crafty, Halloween-loving side screams, "You NEED to make some Halloween decorations!" But my thrifty side counters, "It's too much money!"
Where's the balance? Right here. My Bestie came up with this fun, cheap little craft that would look cute anywhere in your house this Halloween.
Everything you need to make this craft can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or is already something have in your home (if you are the crafty sort that is).
Materials Needed:
- The letters to spell the word "Spooky" (You can get these letters in packages of 4 - thus you can make 2 crafts. Each package is $0.99)
- A wooden stand (Bestie found plaques for $0.79 each)
- Halloween embellishments (The embellishments pictured were in a bag for $2.99)
- A glue gun and glue
- Acrylic paint and paint brushes
- Glitter (Optional)
- Ribbon
*FYI: If you make 2 decorations, the total cost is $5.00 each.
I love how these turned out. Let's take a closer look at some of the embellishments.
The door hanging decoration is my favorite and here's why...
Yep, I painted it with neon paint so that it would glow under my black light. Pretty neat huh?
There you have it. Two original, adorable Halloween decorations for $5.00 a pop. My wallet is happy (not to mention my Hubby) and so am I.
