4th of July is right around the corner. That means it's time to DECORATE! My kids always enjoy being part of the decorating process. Last year we made paper chains for the windows. This year I thought we'd make some paper swirls to spin in our entryway.
All you'll need is some colored cardstock, scissors, a pencil, a bowl/plate, tape, yarn/string, and stickers/glitter glue (optional).
Pick your favorite color of cardstock. Trace around the bowl/plate to get a nice circle. *Tip: don't use one that's too big. I tried a plate that filled the whole 12 x 12 cardstock and my swirl didn't spin as well as the others.
Draw a swirl ending in the middle of the circle. Cut out the circle and then cut along the line until you get to the middle. This was wonderful scissor practice for Goofy.
Tape a piece of yarn to the middle of the circle. After that it's time to decorate the swirl.
The stickers were fun, but my girls especially liked squirting glitter glue all over their swirls.

This craft also helps children work on their fine motor skills. Bud was very meticulous about putting his stickers exactly where he wanted them.
