For preschool last year I was in charge of teaching the kids about different cultures. What a perfect opportunity to use some of the things I had pinned! For Africa Day the kids made African plate necklaces. They painted paper plates lots of different colors. Here is a picture of one of the kids working hard on his necklace.
It was fun to see how different they all ended up being.
It was a pretty messy project because I used foam plates instead of paper plates. The paint I had didn't adhere to the plates very well. If I were to do this project again I would use paper plates and acrylic paint. I heard from their moms that the kids couldn't stop talking about Africa and the necklaces they made.
