Red Riding Hood Costume

I love Halloween.  It is by far my favorite holiday.  I love the decorating, the costumes, the candy--all of it!  I am one of those people who, as a teenager, would stand out in the yard and pretend to be a statue until a trick-or-treating child would get close enough for me to scare.  Many moms would pass by my house saying, "We won't go there.  It's too scary for you."

And so yes, I have been thinking about Halloween since August and have been trying to decide what costumes to dress my children in for the big night.  As I was scouring pinterest I came across this red-riding hood cape from fleecefun.com and knew that I wanted to make it for my 18 month old (who I will refer to as Goofy).

I am not an amazing seamstress.  In fact, I am one of those people who can sew a straight line and that's about it.  For Christmas during our first year of marriage my sweet hubby gave me a sewing machine.  I vowed I would sew at least one thing a year so that the machine did not sit and collect too much dust.

That said, I needed a pattern that I could follow easily and didn't require too much effort.  This cape pattern was PERFECT!  It was so easy to make and Goofy loves it.  Her older sister, (we call her Princess), wants me to make her one too.

So if you can sew a straight line, are looking for something quick, fun, and absolutely adorable I would suggest you try out this cute Little Red Riding Hood cape.
