Slime Creatures

My kids have a strong aversion to slimy, dirty, squirmy things.  Halloween is a fun time to try something new and somewhat gross.  I like my children to learn about different textures, so I decided to make slime creatures with them.

I used THIS recipe from Lolly Jane (mostly because their slime is Maleficent-themed; anyone who knows me knows that Maleficent is my favorite Disney villain).  I used enough Borax to make our slime thick and moldable.

I was surprised by how much fun my kids had squishing the slime.

After they had their fill of squishing, they rolled the slime into little balls and added eyes to their creatures.

Each creature was given a name and lovingly played with.  When it came time to put them away MANY tears were shed.

There are so many different slime recipes to try.  Here are a few that are on my list:

  1. Glow in the Dark Slime - A Pumpkin and a Princess
  2. Sparkly Slime - Learn, Play, Imagine
  3. Winter Snowflake Slime - Little Bins for Little Hands
  4. Chocolate Stretchy Slime - Fun at Home with Kids
  5. Borax Free Galaxy Slime - Twodaloo
