I like to take advantage of warm weather in October as long as it will last. My kids love to hide things all around the house for each other to find. I decided to run with the idea.
First, I found 30 white balloons (10 per kid), filled them with prizes, and blew them up. Once I tied them off I drew a ghost face on the balloon and put different colored ribbon at the bottom. They looked like little bow ties! Each child was assigned a different color.
I put the ghosts all over the yard.
They were in obvious places for Goofy and Bud. When Princess got home from school I hid hers in harder spots.
I told the kids that ghosts had invaded our yard. It was their job to find them and get rid of them.
When they found a ghost with the right colored ribbon, they would bring it to me. I would help them pop the balloon with a push pin.
Pop! Pop! What's inside?
Money!
And a toy car!
Goofy was always so proud when she found a ghost.
Bud showing me his loot.
Once all of the ghosts were found and we had cleaned up their remains (a.k.a. picked up the popped balloons) we went inside and the kids enjoyed their prizes.
Too fun!
