7 Days 'Till Easter

Each year at Easter time I like to do something Christ-centered to help remind my kids what Easter is truly about.  This year The Friend magazine gave me the answer I was looking for.  I have been using the following activity each night since Sunday for our family scripture study.

In the April 2014 issue of the magazine it came with this cute chart (you can print it out HERE).  It tells you to cut out the pictures of Jesus that are on the sides.  Each day during the week of Easter you are supposed to read the scripture, sing the song/do the activity, and match the corresponding picture.  I printed out a copy of my own, cut out the pictures and laminated everything.

I then stuck the picture of Jesus into an egg and numbered it so that it would be opened on the correct day.

Every night I assign one child to grab the correct egg and open it.  We talk about the picture of Jesus.  Then, we read the scripture and do the activity.  Each egg has enough jelly beans for us to have one little treat.

Before they head to bed, I ask another child to help me tape the daily picture onto the correct spot.  My kids are loving learning about Jesus and singing the songs.

The week isn't over.  Print out your own and join us in this fun little activity.  Your kids will love it!

Happy Easter!

    1. The Friend is the best! I use it all the time. I probably shouldn't admit this, but I read it more religiously each month than The Ensign.
