Interchangeable Flip-Flop Flowers

I love the little flip flops that have flowers on them.  Love, love, love them!  But they are always more expensive and you can't change them up.  You are stuck with whatever flower you buy.  I found a solution to this little fashion problem.

All you need is a piece of felt about 5 inches long, scissors, needle & thread, buttons, small hair elastics (one per flower), a glue gun, and a basic pair of flip flops.

Cut your felt into five scallops.  Thread your needle through the bottom of the fabric as shown above.

Pull the thread so that it forms the flower, thread it through your starting point, and tie it off.

Hot glue the small elastic to the back of the flowers.

Glue on a button and you're done!  Attach the flower to the sandal by pulling the elastic around the top of the flip flop and around the flower (like a button latch).  Now you can change up your flowers anytime you want and you don't have to buy the expensive sandals.

I went with a red, white, and blue theme for the 4th of July.  These are Goofy's shoes.  Blue is her favorite color.

Princess got red flowers.  She loves them (because red is closest to pink, her favorite color).

You could make any kind of flower you want!  Here are a few flower tutorials to help you freshen up your sandals.  Have fun!
