As I was flipping through my blog, I realized that somehow I had forgotten to post about Halloween. This is a crime!!! How could I have forgotten my favorite holiday?! This Halloween was especially great. I got to wear a costume that I have ALWAYS wanted to wear (a post about that to come later). I am particularly proud of how my yard decorations turned out. The theme this year was: It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Who doesn't love Charlie Brown? This movie is a classic!
To make our friendly ghosts I needed:
- Sheets of white fabric
- Tomato cages
- Foam balls for the heads
- Paper bags
- Safety pins
- Black felt
- Scissors
- A hot glue gun
- White Christmas lights
- Pipe cleaner
- Black Sharpie marker
- A foam mask and witch hat for Lucy
tomato cages together and put on the foam ball. I threw the white sheet over the ghost, then I cut ovals out of the black felt for the eyes and Charlie Brown's holes. I hot glued them directly onto the sheet. I put Charlie Brown's treat bag onto the ghost with safety pins. I drew dirt onto Pigpen with a Sharpie marker. I put the red witch hat and mask onto Lucy and admired my work. Voila!
Look how big they are next to Princess!!! They really look like life-sized Charlie Brown trick or treaters.
Using a foam disk, a large skewer, fake leaves, a foam board, and a Sharpie I made Linus' sucker. "Never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker!"
The front entry way represents the Halloween party at Violet's.
Here's our front walk all ready for trick or treaters.
We had so much fun with our Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown Halloween decorations. It was sad when then time came to take them down. How did you decorate your house for Halloween?

ReplyDeleteYa, I took them into the garage when it rained or was especially windy. But they were very low-key decorations with big impact. I loved them!

ReplyDeleteI recreated this and used an old set of white sheets. I cut the sheets in half and was able to make 4 of these, one half sheet per. I also used ductape and balloons instead of foam balls for the heads.
