Jesus Teaches at the Temple - Walking Where Jesus Walked Day 3

*We are learning about the things Jesus did the week before he died and was resurrected.  Join us!

I set up the display table for Tuesday.

I love how excited Princess gets each time the table changes.

We read this card together.

I explained that Jesus taught us to love God and our neighbors.

I showed them pictures of Jesus showing love to others (especially children).

To show love to our neighbors we made some treats for them - Easter nests.  Here are all of the ingredients.  (The recipe is at the bottom.)

We got all of the ingredients mixed together...

And formed the nests.

The kids had fun eating the extra chocolate from the pot.

They watched a movie about some of the miracles Jesus did while they ate.  The movie showed how much Jesus loves all of God's children.

Getting the treats ready for the neighbors.

All done!  We delivered them as a family.

Afterwards we all ate a nest of our own.

Mmm!  Tasty!

Goofy had lots of fun mushing her nest around.  Such a funny girl.

Here is the little video we watched.  Princess shouted, "It's Jesus!" the first time Jesus appeared.  We've had so much fun talking about Jesus' life and teachings this week!

Easter Nests
(Adapted from this No Bake Cookie Recipe)
1/4 c milk
2 T cocoa powder
2 T sugar
1/4 c peanut butter
1 c uncooked old fashioned oats
2 t vegetable oil
Jellybeans

Mix milk, cocoa powder, and sugar in a saucepan over low heat.  Bring to boil, then remove from heat.  Add peanut butter and stir into the mix until melted.  Stir in oatmeal and oil.  Drop by large spoonfuls onto wax paper-lined cookie sheet.  Form into nest shape.  Allow to cool in the refrigerator.  Once cool, place jellybeans in the nests.  Enjoy!

*Note: If you use fat-free skim milk, reduced-fat peanut butter, and no jellybeans these cookies are only 1 weight watchers point.
