Top 10 Posts of 2013

I am still here!

I know some of you have had your doubts that I would ever return.  Let me show you why I have been MIA...

Yep, my power cable decided to kick the bucket.  I used that piece of tape to try to get it to keep powering up my laptop.  We fought epic battles - sometimes I won; other times it won.  But OH HAPPY DAY!  My new one is here and we are very happy together.

So between the broken power cable and the sickness that has been plaguing my family this lovely winter season, it has been quite a struggle to post anything.

This post will be worth the wait.  It has the best of the best stuff from 2013.  Without further ado here they are: The top 10 posts from 2013.

#10. Humpty Dumpty Preschool Lesson

I am glad to kick of the post with this preschool lesson.  It was one of my favorites from last year.  I taught the kids the Humpty Dumpty song as well as position words "on" and "off."   They worked together to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.  The lesson ended with the kids making their own Humpty Dumpty to take home.

#9. Holy Ghost FHE Lesson

Your kids will love this family home evening lesson.  It is short, interactive, and they get to rub chocolate frosting all over their teeth.  What does chocolate frosting have to do with the Holy Ghost you ask?  Click the link and find out.

#8. Steps of Repentance FHE Lesson

This family home evening lesson is very visual and straightforward.  It teaches kids that just saying, "sorry" after making a mistake isn't enough.

#7. Agency FHE Lesson

My kids love the game Candy Land, and this lesson is like playing your own life-sized Candy Land game for family home evening (but with a gospel principle attached).  My kids couldn't get enough of it!

#6. Harry Potter Party Decorations

To fellow Potter-heads who wish to throw and epic party I say welcome!  You will get lots of great ideas here.  I have ideas for everything from platform 9 3/4 to the Great Hall to potions class.  So come and browse.  According to Pinterest the Sorting Hat is one of your favorite decorations.  (Speaking of Pinterest - don't forget to click the link and follow my profile.)

Here's another reader favorite of the Harry Potter party decorations.

Personally, this is my favorite decoration.  Give everyone a good laugh when before they tinkle.

#5. Diastasis Recti Exercises

It has been a comfort to know that I am not the only one who has gotten diastasis recti after having children.  For those who don't know, that is where your stomach muscles have split.  Doing crunches is not good for those who have it.  So what do you do instead?  There are links to some different abdominal exercises on this post.  I hope it helps!

#4. Harry Potter Party Food

Apparently, the only thing you readers love more than Harry Potter decorations is Harry Potter food.  (Hey, I don't blame you.)  The Butter Beer is a particular favorite, but don't forget to stop by the Great Hall for dinner and Honeyduke's for dessert.  You won't regret it!

#3. Healthy Cookie Dough

I have a major sweet tooth, but I do try to keep some semblance of a good figure.  If you are in the same boat, this recipe will not disappoint - and you will NEVER guess what the main ingredient is.

#2. Thirteen Busy Bag Ideas

If you are looking for some busy bag ideas for your kids or grandkids I've got everything from beading, to shape building, to puzzle making as well as links to other great bags.  My kids love these things!

And finally...the moment you've all been waiting for.  The reader's choice post for year 2013 is:

#1. Owl Birthday Party

I love owls.  I love parties.  I love birthdays.  I may have gone a little crazy with my love of owls.  My husband was such a good sport helping me put them together late into the night and hanging them from the ceiling (because I am too short).

When Goofy woke up in the morning these little guys greeted her.  She was so surprised.  I loved seeing her face light up.

I am no professional cake decorator by any means, but I was pleased with how her cake turned out as well.

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of you readers.  I can't believe all of the support I have received and the kind comments.  You all make blogging worthwhile.

Here's to another year full of fun and blog-made friendships!
