Palm Sunday - Walking Where Jesus Walked Day 1

With all of the hype about the arrival of the Easter bunny, sometimes the true meaning of Easter gets put on the back burner.  This week my family is going to walk where Jesus walked the last week of his life.  Join us!

Palm Sunday - The kids woke up from their Sunday naps to find this table.

I found these Easter Printables that explain what happened each day the last week of Christ's life.  We read the one above to the kids.

We talked about how Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and the people laid down palm branches and cloaks out of respect.  I asked the kids how they would feel if Jesus came to visit us.

The girls then put palm branches and robes down on the floor.

Princess wanted to make a trail for Jesus to follow so he didn't get his feet dirty.

Her little trail of leaves and robes.

It lead from the front door to the living room.

We then sat together and watched Christ's Triumphal Entry bible video.  (Our Busy Homeschool has a great list of Bible videos for the entire month that you can watch with your family.)  Here is the video we watched.

We concluded by telling the kids that this week we are going to talk about the things that Christ did the week before he died.  I challenged the family to act as though Jesus was really here with us this entire week.

  1. Absolutely love this! We are following another "week of easter" from sugardoodle, but I like this one as well :) Tonight we're creating a Love One Another table, where all week long we can leave messages of love to each other.

    1. We are doing a love themed one tonight too! I knew you'd be doing something fun for Easter with your kiddos. I like the idea of your love messages table. Too cute!
